Section Directors

Just a reminder that the Section Directors will be coming around collecting the dues and distributing our Newsletter starting this weekend. Also the notice on the AGM, Funday, BBQ too.

Boating Safety

One of the members of our Beach Association flipped his boat this weekend. Both Police and Fire responded to the flip. I am not naming names as it could have been just about any one in the association.

In his own words:
"Got dumped in the water at the north end of CWB by a wave that tipped my 12' boat about .5km off shore (in about 6.5' of water). Please do a post about actually wearing life jackets (and not just having them in the boat). There wouldn't have been so much emergency response noise if I had been actually wearing mine."

So here are some links on lifejackets and boating safety:

Stand up paddle boards and peddle boats require lifejackets:

Keeping your kids safe on and near the water starts with the right lifejacket. Watch our video to learn more:

WATER BAN NOW IN EFFECT
Due to the hot dry weather, a complete water ban is now in effect. Outdoor water use is not permitted at any time.  Tiny Township
I am guessing it only applies to those on the Township water systems.

Hope we can get some more rain be fore the long weekend. Lots of brown grass around the beach.

When I see the ban has been lifted I will let you know.

Not a good thing. The waterway brings a lot of benefits to communities on it and around it.

If you have been thinking of a trip on the Trent-Severn you might want to take it this year as it's schedule for next few years is up in the air.
